The formation of the Little Stripes design is very laborious. It involves counting the warp threads and placing the coloured threads forming the design, among them. This is the way all Cypriot traditional Phyti woven designs are made. Nowadays only a few old women in Phyti village on the western side of Cyprus still do Phyti weaving. I am trying to preserve the Phyti technique through this design.
